Outreach Programme Off to a Good Start
Irish Heritage’s new Outreach and Community Programme got off to an encouraging start at the Irish Cultural Centre (ICC) in Hammersmith on Wednesday, 23rd October.
The first in the series of afternoon recitals, especially arranged for people who are unable to attend evening performances but who enjoy live classical music, was delivered by harpist Tara Viscardi.
Tara’s 45 minute recital, which included music by classical as well as Irish composers, was much enjoyed by the audience in the Centre’s auditorium.
Commenting on the success of the inaugural recital, Mary Connolly, Events Manager of Irish Heritage said, “Irish Heritage is passionate about the impact music can have on the lives of individual people of all ages and on society as a whole and that’s why we are taking live music to members of the community who for whatever reason are unable to access it. We were pleased to see so many people at our first recital and look forward to attracting more to the next recital in November.”
The next recital in the series will take place on Tuesday 19th November and will feature Brian Hughes (piano/keyboard) and Sarah Walshe (violinist).
Tickets (£5.00 per adult) are available on the door or via www.irishculturalcentre.co.uk/whats-on
